East Coast Visit - 2005 April 2005 These are from a family vacation that took us to Philadelphia, New York, Hershey PA, Gettysburg, Washington DC, and Williamsburg, VA. There are more to come once I scan the pics from my 35mm camera: Philadelphia -The Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and the new visitors' center, where you can sign a replica Constitution and view bronze statues of its original architects, and Ben Franklin's final resting place...
Hershey, Pennsylvania, home of the Hershey Chocolate Factory, which has over 3000 employees; a theme park owned by Hershey Entertainment Enterprises, and Hershey's Chocolate World visitor's center...
Washington, DC.. we visited the White House! No cameras allowed! The other photos are from the Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, the Museum of American History, the Vietnam War Memorial, and the reflecting pool / Washington Monument. That's me near the Jefferson Memorial amid the cherry blossom trees. They were in bloom! Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia - my son got to join the continental army - the brick building is the Williamsburg courthouse, which played host to the state Supreme court hundreds of years ago. The totem pole was at our Comfort Inn hotel, and if you look really closely in the background on the left, you can see the flower (tulip?) growing in the wild, which I caught in the following photo:
