Encounter with an A-10 I arranged a tour of the local air force base for 30 Make-a-Wish children and their families in July of 2006. Along with demonstrations of air force robots, and a visit from their fire department, the big attraction at the tour was a retired A-10 Thunderbolt. Guests were allowed to climb up into the cockpit. The airmen who hosted the families were absolutely wonderful. Great guys, very accommodating, they made sure everyone had a great time. Tucson Citizen Article on the Tour
